yes Shapechange can be abused - especially when you forget one MAJOR FACTOR

ITS VOLUNTARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Meaning that the Sam you turned into a Tuna had to WANT to be Charlie the tuna.
Now also remember that the person keeps their intelligence.

Now TRANSFORM is a different matter - and is also the one I would limit to
+/- 2 from body. With this spell you CAN change the Sam into Charlie the tuna
(tuna's are big) - and he will BE Charlie the tuna - he will loose intellignece
and the whole nine yards.

Now one question that might come up is 'Whats the difference? They both got the
same drain code'. Shapechange is voluntary - this lowers the code. To off set
this you get to increase Physical Attributes by 1 for every two successes.

Now then I suggest that you limit Transform to +/- 2 body. I would not limit
Shapechange in this way since you can raise the things body in which you change
buy getting extra successes. But as a GM I say 'Keep it in reason' - if you
want rules say +/- 4 from body. That allows Trolls to turn into dogs and such.
I also allow players to change about 5kg of clothing - but not tech.
This is iffy but I don't like having to go through the detail of remembering
where the Mage left his underware "Hey Sid - NICE PINK BRIEFS!!!"

SO in conclusion - 1 - make sure you have the right spell - and use it
reasonably and in the spirit of the rules. By the way the Spirit of transform
IS to change people into something nasty.

Try this on. Transform your FAVORITE enemy into a Poodle and quicken it. :)
you gain a pet and loose an enemy.

which would be fine in middle of the ocean on a sinking boat but in a
perfectly good airplane...

that is why i used to do that...and if there are any cats around.....or
maybe do it at a zoo somewhere near the lions cage......

i was about to ask where you would stop it [to avoid the i turn myself
into a t-rex and rampage among the puny bad guys ripping and slashing and
rendin...oh yea i forgot what i was doing] - in the interest of fairness
though i would apply the same limitations to both shapechange and
transform since they are supposed to be pretty much the same spell - the
balance going in for willingness is the retained intell and the +s to
attributes for extra sucesses

i kinda like the idea of making the player think ahead [alright guys
leave my close right here, no tossing them out before i get back like the
last time] - but that is why they are called house rules - by tech do you mean guns and
bullets and
such or do you include cyber replacements in this one too????

fear not i kept the spirit of the spell alive and well

pound...heh heh heh heh......
