Can anyone explain how a shapeshifter in animal form can take damage
from bullets, edge weapons etc and heal so rapidly and then take damage
form blunt weapons that do stun damage and their normal (ha ha) recovery
is so poor?
Surely there is a difference for stun damage on a cellular
level(bruises/broken bones) - blunt weapon damage versus recovery to
stun damage - mental. In the case of cellular level damage from blunt
weapons - the shapeshifter in animal form should recover at the same
speed as they do from edge weapons etc?

Malcolm - who is not running a shapeshifter but has a companion who is
and spent a long time complaining about his healing from being beaten
unconscious.

The problem is that SR doesn't generally distinguish between blunt
trauma and mental fatigue. If you want to make that distinction, you'll
probably have to do some rules re-writing of your own.

Sure I can.

Ok Regeneration is based on the astral template of the subject,
constantly fueling the self healing process by rebuilding cells
accordingly to the astral template, and since in SR stun damage is
NOT physical damage, aka wounds that spill blood and stuff, they
don't regenerate, because their is no physical part that must be
healed. At least not in a significant way.

And the companion rules for shifter regen are, well ...
