Shapeshifters can astral percieve (although striper seems to have been
unaware of that ability, although Romulus could. I am not sure what Keith
Wolverton was though - a shaman or shapeshifter, as he could only ever cast
heal and never summoned a spirit).

On reading this, it appears that a shapeshifter without any sorcery or
conjuring ability could still take Aura reading as a skill.

Then, on reading the sections on talismongering and alchemy in "Magic in the
Shadows", only the ability to astrally percieve seems to be a requirement.

Does this mean they could do alchemy and such like as well?

Coud a cyberzombie do so in the same way?

junk mail filter and do not mention "bank, business, credit, debt,
insurance, interest, loan, money" as keywords.

Yep.

Talismongering is a knowledge skill that anyone may learn. Alchemy and
Artificing are specializations of Enchanting and "Only characters with a
magic Attribute of 1 or greater can have this skill" p30 MITS. So the
ability to astrally perceive is not a sufficient requirement to do Alchemy
or Artificing.

No magic. No Enchanting. :-)

Yes if you read the rules for cyberzombie's it states that they can see aura's but have to

consentrate to see them (make a skill check in stead of using them for compementary dice)
I have a Cyberzombie in my campain and it works.

Individuals with a negative Essence. A cyberzombie should be dead, but
powerful magic rituals (known as cybermancy) are used to bind his soul
to his body.
There are perhaps 50 people in the world who are capable of performing
cybermantic rituals; said rituals require a Delta clinic (of which
there are 7 in the world, all corporate-owned IIRC).
A cyberzombie is awfully expensive to create and to maintain (special
equipment needed), dual-natured but not magically active, actively
polluting the astral space (think walking background count which
attracts and pisses spirits off), expected to die within 2 years after
the rituals are performed and generally not worth the trouble if you
ask me, given that for the price of one you can get a complete team,
equipped with state-of-the-art gear.
