Hey all,

I got a PC wanting to play a shapeshifter wolf mage. I was wondering how
many building points it costs to be a shapeshifter. (It doesn't say in my
SR2 companion)

Does anyone else think the human form of the shapeshifter wolf is a little
vulnerable? I was wondering if I should give him any extra goodies like
low light vision, enhanced smell, or at least an extra initiative die in
human form. I run a pretty tough campaign but he could survive without
those extras. I'm just curious why all the other human forms of the other
species of shapeshifters have cool modifiers but the leopard and wolf
don't.

Input appreciated,

You are better to use the new companion rules, first, shapeshifter cost 25
build points, and second, the advantages and desadvantage they provides are
better and a lot more logical and well rounded. A way the new companion worth
buying...

Can't comment on the leopard, but wolf could be explained. Since wolf
is a 'team player', he lives in a pack, he would get most of his
strength from the group and not as an individual. I believe that wolf
shapeshifter would be most likely living in packs and an individual
shapeshifter wolf would have to be cautious. Though they might still be
very ferocious, a wolf alone has to be naturally strong (read high
attribute ratings) to survive. (iirc) wolves always tend to hunt in
packs and never alone, the combined force is what make up their
strength.

Just my thoughts on the wolves.
