hmmm, i just read something from the Stainless Steel Rat on shotgun chokes,
etc. as i was revuing the data. my .02 on the story is that the term
"room-sweeper"
while used by many as a moniker for sawed-offs, does actually come from this
really nifty choke used by special forces (my brother is a seal, and my father
was a GB, and my best freind is a ranger). the choke looks like a vacuum
cleaner attachment, and is used on the (wonderful!) mossbergs, and the Spas12's.
with magnums of course.

What it does is shape the shot blast into a shear plane rather than a circle.
i'm told that this thing can cut a man in ballistic in half at short ranges and
cut several normals at greater distances. the range is less due to the velocity
dampning affect of the choke. three samurai and three of these can clean out
a room in one action. Lone Star would hate these things.

03 *sigh* check me on this, but i don't think you can choke a shotgun on
full auto, it's just too much for the barrel and will go boom (daisy pattern
face and all). The marines have a wiz full auto shotgun that turns 3/second
with a 50(?maybe) round drum magazine. nasty.

**** anti - sam/decker idea of the moment ****
i used an EMP affect the other day to frag my samurai players and decker.
the best part was the cred-sticks. of course, i didn't use a nuclear blast
i had the baddies sim the effect with hi-tech. yes it knocked them out too,
but then the enemy mages swept in and totalled the place.

- two in a series on how to separate the players from their nuyen

*****************

yeah, i'm new here. i refuse to drivialize about myself though.
