Maybe a more specific answer would be more helpful. So you are saying that
the current trend of rifling the shotgun slugs will not continue, nor will
a 'new' practice of rifling shotgun barrels specifically to be fired with
slugs? Or what?

I have several barrels for my Auto-5, and if there were a rifled barrel to
swap out, it would make sense to me to do so as a solution to the slug's
ballistic problems.

So why neither?

Both will continue. A lot of folks like full-gauge slugs, and most of
them go with a rifled one. A lot of folks like saboted slugs, and use a
rifled barrel to get the most out of them. (BTW, rifling shotgun barrels
is by no means "new", it been around at least ten years.)

Check with Browning, along with the Gander Mountain and Cabela catalogs,
becuase I've seen them advertised. (Off-topic, but a public service)

I think that they will both continue, actually, but froma game mechanics
point of view, it is too much of a hassle. If I had to do it, I would
increase the range by 50%, but limit you only to slug shells if you
actually want good odds of hitting the target.
The other idea I've had is that cyberchokes are not at the muzzle, but a
few inches before it, with a rifled section for that last few inches and
lowest the choke will go is the the equivelent of improved cylinder. (A
rifled "choke" tube is close enough in effect to a rfiled barrel that the
difference is largely academic at most hunting and defensive ranges.)

I know, but the it is new compared to the rest of the gun world, which has
been around for over 100 years. The Auto-5 was in production for 90 years
alone. :)

Other than that, thanks for the input. It is about what I thought, I just
wanted to get other opinions on it.
