Has anyone seen/bought the "Renraku Shutdown" book, or has that yet to
be released?

T'ain't out yet. September, I think it'll be. Me, I'm looking forward
to it. One of those deals along the lines of MB! or BitB, where the
module takes you through events and general goings-on.

Personally, one of my characters is going to look at the fact that the
whole place is shut down, and all the doors are locked tight, and see
it as one big oportunity to take her street louge board, and
hellicopter up to the top of the pyramid, and louge down the south
face of the arcology. She's gonna have some trideo recording drones
set up from various camera angles, and then sell off the rights to the
footage to either one of the local pirate stations, or a legitimate
"Extreme Sports" Media Outlet, whichever one makes the more
interesting offer.

You're going to have to pray that there is a decent run off zone at the
bottom of the thing, otherwise the sudden stop at the bottom could be a
bit more than she was expecting.

One thing though, I thought the Renraku arcology looked more like Sears
Tower in Chicago, rather than a pyramid. I thought the pyramid would
belong to Aztechnology.

If it is like Sear Tower, then you'd be better off doing either a base
jump with a parachute, or a front run with rapelling gear.

cheers

I don't think it's been released yet, but from what I've heard of it, it
will introduce a BIG dungeon bash into SR. Whether that's good or bad
remains to be seen -- I'd say it depends on how the book's done.

Actually, IIRC (it's been a while since I've borrowed my Co-GM's
Seattle Sourcebook), the first 10 floors of the Renraku Arcology are
straight up and down, and the floors from 11 up to the top form a
pyramid. BTW, there is a picture of the outside of the Arcology on the
corner of p. 5 of Blood in the Boardroom.

Aztechnology has a step-pyramid design for many of their larger
buildings, including the one in Seattle, but the upper floors of the
Renraku Arcology are also a pyramid, a smooth one, not stepped either.
It's still debateable whether the side of the pyramid is smooth enough
to louge down, but hopefully, there will be a decent description of
the building's exterior in either "Shutdown" or the extra material
that didn't make it into "Shutdown" that FASA is going to post on
their website.

Actually, since the building is a pyramid except for the bottom 10
floors, which drop straight off, she's going to ride her street louge
board all the way off the edge of the pyramid, at which point the
team's mage is going to catch her with a levitate spell. The louge
board is going to be a sacrifice, but it's worth it for a stunt like
this.

Architecturally speaking, Central American pyramids were of step design, with
central risings of smaller steps for the ascent of priests, nobles and
sacrificees. These central risings were usually found on one side of the
pyramid design.

I've heard a fair deal about the innards, but sworn to secrecy. Just
worried that I missed it. Probably shoulda e-mailed David.

Mountain Dew falls _DIRECTLY_ in the category: "Extreme Sports" Media
Outlet.
Sheesh.
