propellant bullet rim of casing
'piston'
The Bullet has a long casing and when the round is fired, the
piston slides forward, accelerating the bullet from the gun.
But when the piston reaches the rim on the mouth of the casing
it is stopped, trapping all the gas inside it.
RESULT?
No Muzzle Flash. No Bang of released gas
Only the pop of the bullet pushing air from the barrel, as loud
as an airgun.
The Russians dreamed this one up, and make 7.65x44mm silent guns
(including a fighting knife with a one shot silent pistol in the
hilt, firing along the blade)
In SR, thats about+6 to TN to hear, and even if you do hear it,
still Int/combat experience test to recognise it as a shot.
