It _is_ possible to silence a revolver, but you can't do it by just
screwing a silencer onto the muzzle (like you always see them do in those
1960s movies). You'd have to build a silencer that also encloses the
cylinder; a couple of years ago IRL, some or another company had developed
one of those, but I don't know what came of it. I also don't remember who
it was, because I saw it in a magazine I didn't buy. They did have a
picture of it, though.
Anyway, if you really want it, there's a revolver silencer in one of the
Plastic Warriors books.
