All right, don't laugh. Can you silence a grenade launcher in Shadowrun? :)

I'd guess you could: low-pressure barrel, low-velocity projectile. Of
course, the point is that the enemy don't know where you fired from:
they will probably realise that someone just set off a grenade.

It just sort of came up and I thought I'd canvass opinions...

You probably could, but silencers tend to slow projectiles. With something like a
grenade, that would mean drastic target adjustment. Besides, grenade launchers really
make very little sound. If you're far enough away (say, 25 meters) unless the area you're
in is dead silent, they won't know what hit them. (given other modifiers, i.e. enhanced
hearing)

Nope. First off, the round is already sub-sonic. Secondly, the powder
charge is very small. M-203 GLs make a sound similar to the popping of a
champagne cork, distinctive, but hard to hear in a firefight.

You rarely find an ambusher by sound, usually it is a visual clue (muzzle
flashes, disturbed/shot up vegataion) that gives away the ambushers'
posistion.

Something like that would have to be a specially-designed custom weapon. I
can't see you going out and buying a grenade-silencer at the Stuffer Shack.
I think they have something in the military like that today(not sure though)

Not really, because the necessity of silencing a grenade launcher is almost nil. It
only makes a small "foof" sound, until the grenade hits its target

I'd say you could, provided you build a silencer large enough for it, of
course... I don't think those are sold at gun stores :) Since GLs make
little noise in the first place, it would be easier than for a pistol,
IMHO.
