Hey... Does anyone have a Tickle Me Elmos Doll?

<just joking>

For those of you who don't know what I'm babbling about because you don't
live in the states, the Tickle Me Elmo is the newest kiddie craze here...
It's a $30.00 plush red doll based on a Sesame Street Muppet that giggles
maniaclly and vibrates violently when you push its stomach or sides...

Anywaysm, the doll has been IMPOSSIBLE to find in the stores for the last
couple months, and they are being sold outside of the stores for close to
$1000.00 now...

I work in a Video Store, and we get very desperate people asking us if we
carry these things... Yeah, right...

I HATE Elmo... almost as bad a Barney...

Actually, try $7000+ and $4000+. (NO, I am not kidding, folks.) Someone
here in Albuquerque bought one for around $2600.

I heard some slag paid about $7500 for one...

I remember somebody posting about an "Elmo" type job for some non-runner
SR players...why not the latest "Neil the Ork Barbarian" action fig?

It was on CNN last week, together with a report about a similar craze in
the UK, but with Buzz Lightyear dolls. Some woman paid US$6000 for a TME
doll, they said...

AAAAARGH!!!!!

Stopitstopitstopit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

|<just joking>

Not funny....
Apart from the fact that I've no idea what one is, that thread has been
plaguing usenet now for a couple of weeks......

Fortunately.... I don't have any kiddie relatives.....

At least, none that I've ever met.....

NOTHING, apart from maybe Wesley Crusher, is as bad as barney.....

I could see that. An 8 inch (20.32 cm) blue plush dragon that looks like
it's sitting up with outstreched plush wind that roars when you press
on it.
