This has been deeply bothering me since I read CC; do you have to jack into
a Simsense Rig?

The only descriptions I can find (CC, SR3 and those parts of Shadowbeat I
glanced at) seem to indicate that it just sits on the user's head and
somehow convinces the brain that it is somewhere else, feeling different
emotions. It does say that it uses ASIST technology (I think) but I'm not
sure if that does mean a datajack.

The idea is as well that it is as normal as T.V. and if a datajack is
required to use one (depending on how many people have datajacks, I think
about 45-60% of the population in economicly advanced countrys) that would
not make it accessable to a lot of people.

Can anyone help me out on this one?

Thanking you in advance (or ignoring you if you are planning on pointing out
how foolish my question is).

Phil

A Simsense Rig/Electrode Rig (Used in 2XS to bring Dirk along Buddy's last run,
slot the chip etc. etc. drekcetera) uses a number of contact pads to send a
series of electrons to through the skull at key locations into the poor shmucks
brain. This, whilst technically working, and saving you the few hundred nuyen
on buying a datajack, surgery not included, is something like 25% as efficient
as slotting stuff directly.

So, if you go by my above statements (May Cthulhu look upon the lack of pictures
and shadowtalk with distaste), rigs would be more common by far than 'jacks,
since even squatters might be able to scrape up the cash for one (Mind you,
their likely to hand it over to gangers in exchange for being left alone,
but.....)
