Hello people,

Just a request from my side to all those people who collect useless SR
stuff on their PCs.

Do any of you have a scanned in copy of the skill web? I don't have
access to a scanner and I want one on the PC.

Oh, and if any of you are suggesting that I should get the quickref sheet
that Gurth produced, I've already downloaded it, but I want a whole one,
not one that's been ripped apart.

And another thing - Gurth, it seems to me that your skill web from
quickref.doc is missing a line from quickness to athletics and stealth.

Thanks in advance.

Shaman
PS. No offence Gurth, you did a good job with the quickref.doc

The revised skill web chart from the Shadowrun Companion p.47 is
good.

- MC23, realising he said something nice about the companion -
"It must be time for sleep."

names more so and they were guarded very closely. To protect themselves,
they answered to another name, because if another discovered their real

There's a revised skill web? Darn, that means I really must get it NOW!

It added the Grimoire and Awakenings skills, Instruction skill off
of Leadership, exchanged Biotech and Cybertechnology's places, added
another dot between vehicle B/R and Reaction, and enables B/R skills to
be defaulted to Intelligence. Not bad and very useful.

- MC23, remembering the Companion finally had good rules for steath -
"Damn, I did it again!"

Yeah, its pretty good....added the skills from the grimoire and switched
places for biotech and cybertechnology and added new optional rules for using
the skill web.

According to SR2 rules, a character can default to another skill or
attribute when s/he doesn't have the skill in question. However, can a
character with Armed Combat of 1 default to Unarmed Combat (of 6) in
place of the Armed Combat skill? For that matter, could the same character
with a Quickness of 1 default to Unarmed combat (of 6) in place of
Quickness?

I'm not saying anyone would want to do this, but is it against the rules?

According to Wolfchild, at 21:26 on 22 Jul 99, the word on
the street was...

You can use the Partial Defaulting rules from the Companion (second
edition, page 47) for this. In short, you use the average of the two
numbers of dice, and one-half the modifier. Thus, you'd get 3 or 4 dice
((6 + 1) / 2, the Companion doesn't say whether to round up or down) and a
+2 modifier instead of a +4.

Yes and no, in that order. On the skill web there are arrows. You cannot
go against the arrow, so you can default from Unarmed to Armed, but not
Unarmed to Quickness. Of course I am doing this completely from memory, so
I could be wrong.

You are. ;) You can default to an attribute eventually, racking up TN mods along the
way. Just keep following the arrows until you get to an attribute and add +2 for each dot
you cross.

Like someone else said, it really helps to use the partial defaulting rules in the SR
Companion (2nd Ed). They help fix the problem with low skills and high attributes among
other things.
