What's the deal with some of you folks slamming people about their
names..Just WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?!?!?!?! If these people like a character
enough to want to take their names as well..More power to them!! I know for a
fact that this happens on the RL streets..We have 2 guys that go by the name
Preacher here..Both happen to be criminals..But that is a different story..It
happens..If the original whoever doesn't like it then let THAT PERSON AND
THAT PERSON ALONE OBJECT!!!!! Until such time get off their backs!!

Leave it if you are attached to it..FastJack is also the name of a movie that
has nothing to do with SR..Even though one could place it in the same
arena..It is kinda hard to copyright a person's name..

The person formerly known as Prince (or is that symbol trademarked).
Walt Disney.
And probably Bill Gates.

Nice to know. Personally I don't give a hoot. But there was the possible
consideration of FASA breathing down our necks. Temper tantrums aside. I
kind of like the info I can get off of hear I'd hate to see it torn down
because the company decided to go after the list. TSR did it why not FASA?

If you have to ask then it's probably classified.
Which means that I have to follow protocol.
But if you ask nicely I might forget that you asked.

Because TSR sucks and FASA doesn't? TSR shot themselves in the foot
with their aggressive attitude. It turned a lot of people off. TSR is
popular for the same reason that Microsoft is; because so many people
just don't know any better.

Because FASA (well, Tom Dowd) told this list (well, Rob Hayden) that FASA
didn't have a problem with this list, maybe? I think I've got the message
somewhere, though it'd take some digging around to find it.

I think you've got the wrong attitude here, Tom. Don't go saying stuff like
that without a reason, it tends to annoy people, such as myself, and Tim
Kerby probably isn't in your fan club at the moment, either. If you have a
problem with what someone says, why don't you give them reasons why you
don't agree with them, instead of calling them ignorant and stupid? That
*would* seem to be the intelligent thing to do, ne?

And in agreement with Tim:

T$R *has* done a lot of stuff that is both very aggresive and dumb, from a
business standpoint. An excellent example is websites. They were so
annoyed at the idea of anyone else throwing up an "official" T$R website
that they wrote a statement making it illegal for anyone to do so. The only
problem was, they didn't quite go over the fine print well enough, because
even *they* can't put up an official T$R website.

The people who play **&* are also a good example. I haven't met one yet who
can truthfully say that he likes T$R. Every last one I've met hates that
company but just thinks **&* is cool. I have to say that I'd be playing a
different game, myself.

And don't get me started on Microsoft, because Microsoft is just a <15 Mp
deleted>ing hate that company!

Lets try and keep this at a higher level, please. This is the second time you've
called someone ignorant and stupid. The first time the comment could be
considered an insult to you, so your response MIGHT be justified. Responding
the same way to this post just makes me wonder what you are thinking? TSR's
bussiness practices have DEFINITELY alienated much of the industry, and cost
them a great deal of their position. Whatever you think of AD&D, I don't see how
you could take such offense at this statement. If you can back your statement up,
do so. If not, think before you post.

Gee, Andy, how do you really feel? :)
Tom's repsonse does bring the following to mind:

doubt."

Hehe. If that is true, it serves the bastards right.

Can't argue there.
I don't want to drag this thread on, but I am curious if he was
defending TSR, Microsoft, or both, and why? I would like hear his
side. Although, he did resort to name calling, so he probably doesn't
have a reason, or an intelligent arguement for that matter.

It is how I feel. If I was being sarcastic, the message would have

Yep, but that's how the university assignes account names...
U means undergrad
5 means I started at the university in 1995.
a77 is just a random assignment dependent on when I got my account.

Not exactly user friendly, but hey, it's FREE.... I can't complain...

I meant the last line before the "-- ", where most people write their name...
and you had "Idiot" standing. Sorry, just tried to defuse the situation a bit
