It's wierd - when I first started reading SR novels and playing the
game I thought "I'll never use the slang swearing..."
These days words like Frag, Slot and Drek are part of everyday vocabulary :-)

Heh, I do that too... I once got in trouble with my boss because a server
gave me a special order I needed to do extremely late, so I had to stop what
I was doing and immediately get to work on that... and I couldn't find one
of the ingredients, and I exclaimed, "Ah, fraggit!" My general manager heard
it, thought I was calling the server (who happened to be gay) a rather
derogatory term that has absolutely NOTHING to do with a burning cigarette
in the US *g* He dropped the heavy end of the hammer on me, which confused
the hell out of me 'cause even as he was reaming me out, I still had more
than half my attention on doing my job (What, you think they were gonna stop
me from working just to yell at me? Heck, they didn't let the little fact
that I was off the clock deter them from putting me to work...) and he
didn't want to tell me exactly what I'd done, until we took a few seconds to
go into his office and close the door so *he* wouldn't get in trouble lol -
I just stared for a few seconds, then started laughing. He failed to be
amused, until I explained to him what I said.

Even now, years since playing SR on a regular basis, I still tend to use
'frag' as an epiteph, and 'drek' to a lesser extent. And I still
occassionally catch myself before greeting somebody with "Hoi, chummer."
