A smart frame would likely be able perform any sequence of pre-programmed
actions. Ie. Search through system x for a file named y and store the data
in the PC on my desk.
However, it is not a living, thinking thing and would have little room for
dealing with the unexpected. (like most IC) Better programming of the frame
would give it some limited ability to deal with "exception conditions" but
until AI research is more thorough is no match for the spur of the moment
decision making that a live decker is able to perform.

We have a similar thing here. It's called QFTP. You type in all (and I
mean ALL) the relevant info, and it goes and gets it. It even works
occasionally! But you have to be REAL exact with the info. If you gave
it ANY bad info, it would start to have problems

Not necessarily... sometimes the IC wins!
