Thats true only in the event that that melee is the only thing either
character cares about / must spend combat pool on. Otherwise, going
more often makes it more likely you will have a full combat pool.

Nonetheless, it is a valid point, and a potential anoyance in 1 on 1
fights. I find it somewhat realistic, though- if you make the first
attack, and fail, you DO leave yourself open. More annoying is that the
attacked party can use full defense, get away clean, and I've chewed up
my combat pool attacking, so I can't do the same.

Really? Sounds good for melee, but what about those 14 combat pool UZI
toting speed samurai- they can blaze away for full effect and STILL have
thier whole combat pool for damage resistance when the survivors go.
OUCH.

My Bad. I meant "if the spell is stun" Stun seems extra suckky out of
proportion- the "stun then kill" thing is not often a problem in our
games- I like to encourage "stun 'n' run". Why make those spells
resistable, but not physically daging ones? The sorce of damage is NOT
similar to a physically damaging weapon.

For me, the term "counter-attack" is used in one situation only.
And that situation is when someone attacks you on THEIR action, and you
attempt to defend yourself with combat pool. No combat pool, no counter
attack. Simple.

And IIRC, the rules state that only combat pool equal to the SKILL in
armed/unarmed combat can be used in this way.

So, if someone totally unskilled in combat was attacked, they could used
their combat pool only to dodge, NOT counter attack.

[Or am I getting mixed up with 1st Ed again.... GURTH!]

OK, so we've established that recording ALL 5 senses to a gard drive would
consume massive amounts of memory.
How about if we delete a few of the senses?

After all, does Bull really need his senses of smell and taste?

Hearing - yes, touch - yes, sight - definately.

But smell and taste are IMO of pretty minor when you consider that Bull's
life is on the line!

So let's say that we only record 3 of the five sense memory tracks of Bull's
brain, now how much space do we need? ;-)

Besides, I'd actually LIKE to have my memories of smell and taste "reset",
think how cool it would be to taste things like ice cream, or smell roses
again for the FIRST time!!

Bull doesn;t regenerate... Yet...

Tinner's being WAY lenient with me on this, and we also caught the diseease
early on and Bull has been taking some major medication to slow it down,
but now's he's getting desperate...

At this stage, Bull looks like a wendigo (Big and Furry), craves meat, and
occasionally gets the urge to bite someone's head off, literally.
Basically, he's spent the last month locked up in a nice padded cell so
that he isn;t tempted to eat anyone...

Tinner basically ruled that Until Bull finally succumbs to the urge to eat
people and drain essence, he's not a "full" wendigo. See, he can be
nice... :]
