MGKelly mentioned his Softback is already falling apart. How many other
books are doing the same? Is the Softback cover bound well, or is it
just a matter of time before they all come off? (don't get extenstial on
me, I mean realistically not in terms of eternity)

From my personal experience with SR books, or FASA books in general, they
cannot be exposed to temperatures about like 90 degrees farenheit without
the side bindings melting and the book starting to come apart. Because of
the way these types of books are bound, even without exposure to high
temperatures, I wouldnt recommend opening the pages to their full extent
(ie flat) or else the glue that holds the packets together will quickly
become loose, and it will fall apart. I don't suspect FASA has changed the
way they bind their softcover books just because there is a new version of
Shadowrun out, so I suspect we will still see this problem arise.

I don't know ... the guys here have had the books for just about as long but
have not said anything about the books falling apart.

My softback is falling apart. I think that was hastened by my leaving it
my hot car for a day. Didn't last 72 hours tho. Luckily I've got a
hardback.

I bought mine Saturday and it already looks like at least one section, the
character generation section, looks like it will not last. I am tempted to
undo the pages and hole punch it.
