I don't know how many of you are aware of this, but there are two
propositions on the Sept 19. ballot that may greatly alter the landscape
of Downtown Seattle, and thus throw a real curveball <pardon the pun> at
us Shadowrun players. The first is a new baseball stadium to be built in
either the north or south parking lot of the Kingdome. The second, and
less attractive measure is a plan called the Seattle Commons. This would
convert most of the south shore of lake union running, in about a two to
three block strip to Denny way into a park, and low income housing project
among other things.

I'll try to post the returns on the 20th.

The second one doesn't strike me as a big deal in Shadowrun terms;
neighborhoods and parks come and go with pretty high frequency over 60
years. The baseball stadium, though, that makes a difference. Let us
know how it goes! Since I haven't introduced the Kingdome yet, or any
other sporting stuff, I may yet have time to incorporate "the real world"
if it strikes me as interesting.

Blessings,

I believe you are under estimating this a bit. <that and I don't believe
it was adequately described> I'm not talking about a neighbor hood park,
This is a Multimillion dollar 60 plus acre greenbelt, low income housing
project, and Commercial park. It is going to move mercer street
underground and wipe out several streets all together. I believe it also
includes a little bit of restrycturing of I-5 right around Mercer.

On to the Stadium. If approved there are two options being discussed.
One is a retractable roof baseball park a block south of the kingdome.
The other is a traditional ballpark in the north parking lot of the
Kingdome that would look out in to Pioneer square, although by 2056 the
only view would probably be the Archology.

If ya like the changes, use them official or no.
If ya don't like 'em, say they didn't go through, if they did or not isn't
really important, its a fantasy game.

Or they can always have been paved over again -- remember that loads of
people migrated from the NAN after they became independant. Loads of them
moved to Seattle, and people have this weird habit of needing places to stay...

Make it a run...
A powerful shaman manages to create a new spell to go back into time.
A totem empowers you with an item that will shift you back into time
and to stop this villain before he causes too many problems.
*the item has 2 charges one to go back in time and one to bring you
back* don't forget totems have been around a long time and know
alot, so it would be easy for them to give you a contact or 2
in that time zone.
* make it a terminator thing - only living things can be
transported (but don't tell them that) (cyberarms are part
of your aura so their ok.)
* a big chase and a bang he's dead. *
* police are chasing you, maybe even the mob (who he was trying
to contact)*
you teleport back but unfortunately his influence
back in time changed some things and voila a new statium.

Sounds fun...
You can use this run to change some things in your game.
As a payoff - have your players invest in something
they know will pay-off, or the money the evil shaman had
they can put it into a bank account for them in the future.
something like that.

Thanks
Gary C.

Most shadowrunner teams would, I like to imagine, walz right over today's
law enforcement. They're generally two times faster, three times tougher,
and have four times the firepower, even if they only manage to obtain 1990s
weapons :) Not to mention all those neat, concealed cyberweapons (spurs,
shotguns, monowhips, etc.)

>Sounds fun...

It does indeed...
