Yeah, a lot of synth food is made from soya beans + flavouring. Reason: soy
beans are high in nutritional content, and once pressed, fairly tasteless and
easily shaped.
However, I don't think ALL the synth products are soya based, so it's probably
become slang for any type of synthetic food, most of which are probably
chemically derived.

Which once again leads me to wonder. Dosn't it say somewhere that elves
prefer a vegetarian diet? Ok, so they got one. ;)

anybody out there remember the "soylent" products??? they were coler
coded and based on several different protien sources
