came and asked me why Mindlink and Mindprobe have the same drain. I told
him 'it's the way the spell design system works' and went through to show
him. However, I found an interesting problem instead. When I reverse
engineered them, I ended up with different Drain for each spell. Upon
further looking at the example spells designed in MitS, I noticed that the
version listed there used the Touch Range modifier, where as the spell
design section clearly states that this is not to be used for detection or
health spells. And to make matters worse, some of spells apparently use
it, while others don't, hence the discrepancy between Mindlink and
Mindprobe. So which way should it go? Was the design example a mistake,
or does Touch apply to detection spells?
