Normally I would agree with you. On the "confer" system here at
the University of Michigan I'm fairly ruthless on people who can't convey
thought well in written form.
But on this list, you need to make exceptions due to the fact
that English is not everyone's native language. I know *my* grammar would
suck if this list were in German. So cut the "ferriners" some slack and
read what they have to say. Sometimes they come up with interesting
perspectives due to their differing cultures (anyone remember the 2nd
amendment discussion?).

one should also take under consideration that the purpose of this list
is not to perfect our writing or debating skills, but to _talk_ about
Shadowrun. picking on one another's grammer, spelling, or style is
not conducive toward that purpose, and should be eschewed.

I could tell by his slurred speech, the heavy glaze over his eyes,
and his inability to stand straight that he was under the influence
of a powerful narcotic. That, or he was a graduate student.

That is true, and things seem to have improved dramatically sicne last time
this topic came up. But back then, it seemed to me like the people making
the worst mistakes were Americans and Englishmen...
