Hi everyone.

Ever notice that many of the spells in SRII and GrimII are either duplicates,
errorous, or just plain illegal? Good examples are Sleep and Stun Cloud (dups),
Hellblast (err), and Manablast (illegal). Well, I've decided that it's time
to compile a universal (and correct) spell books to contain all the published
spells and any that people of designed themselves.

I ask that if you have any home grown spells that you send them to me so I can
put them into the list. Make sure your name is with them so I can give you
credit for them. Also I ask that you use the GrimII creation system so their
is consistancy.

As for why I'm doing this... call it an incredible urge to do something for no
good reason.

See Ya in Shadows,

It seems there's much interest in my compilation of Shadowrun spells. I'm
not exactly sure on how to send it to everyone (I'm not too clued up on
this internet-thing), but it seems to me that I could best include it
with a message to everyone (other suggestions are welcomed).

You'd have to waituntil next week, though, I have to be at school to
include it in a message. Anyone have an objection against WP51-format,
cuz I think it'll get a bit messy if I have to convert it into an
ASCII-file?

I would really like a copy of this list. If you can, just send a copy
to my e-mail address (in the signature file). I have a mac, so I'm not
sure if a WP-51 file will work, but the word processor I have should be
able to convert it.

Thanks in advance,
Michael

If its in WP51 format, you can't include it in a message over the
Internet. If you want, contact me privately and I'll help you out some
more (I have WordPerfect 5.1 also).

Hullo Falin,

Sorry about the delay, lost yer address. What can I tell you about
Shadowrun-Battletech. Lesse, I let the players create their characters
using the Battletech system until they get to the skills and edge. For
edge I use the SRII Karma system, straight from the black book <I don't use
ANY of the Companion>. For skills I wait till they have figured out their
final TN for each skill, then I have them subtract that TN from 8 and the
remainder is their starting skill level for SRII. The the charactyer
transfers from scratch paper to a SRII character sheet and away we go.

For all combat the SRII rules are used. For weapon combat I do use some
house rules for weapon Force. Such as, the B-tech MG does 60D damage vs
people and light armor and 2 vs real armor. It goes up from there but the
increase isn't linear. Of course, I've been wargaming for around 32 years
and roleplaying for 26. I really don't expect people to survive getting
hit with a .50 HMG or larger round.

I do use the B-tech armor with most attacks hitting the CT of a mech. The
incoming round treats the armor as barrier per SRII. Only a very few
gun/round combinations are actually *armor piercing* against B-tech armor.
The AC5 on the ShadowHawk for one, the Marauder and Sentinal also carry
weapons with enough barrel length to get a projectile off at AP velocities.
None of the other cannon can get a proj down-range fast enough to be AP at
all, and HEAT simply doesn't work against B-tech armor.

Of course, the APDSFSDPU round fired from a M1A2 will go straight through
an Atlas from top to bottom, but that's real life <grin>.

I have an offer for ya, if you would like, send me the file, I'll post it
on my web page, giving you due credit. Just e-mail the text, ascii if
possible, easiest way to make sure my system will handle it, I'll html it
up, unless you want to do it yourself. All free of charge! 8-)
