Question: When a spell is cast with the aid of a spell focus, is the spell
cast 'through' the spell focus, or does it just aid your sorcery. I ask
because I've heard comments of making spell focus that become the starting
point for a damaging manipulation (the spell actually physically leaves the
object as opposed to leaving the magician who cast it).
For those of you who have the Plastic Warriors books, there is something
(I think the MPAC) that utilizes something similar to this. If you do have
the Plastic Warriors books, please comment on the plausibility of having a
system like the MPAC.

Reaver's little toy? Yeah, that caused a bit of a stir first time round
too :)

For those unfamiliar with it, Reaver basically designed a damaging
manipulation spell, built a spell focus for it, and attached that to a
gun. Since the spell fires a sort of lighting bolt, as I understand it he
reasoned that the spell could be aimed by aiming the focus -- and since
that's attached to the gun, aiming the gun aims the focus and thereby the
spell.

BTW, the guy that designed it is on the NERPS list, so you can ask him
about it if you want to...
