to be interested in what our GM has decided, here goes. It's
pretty straightforward, and leaves the status quo as it was:
A spell lock synchronises with the target's aura when it's bonded.
This means that its aura is merged with theirs, and is able to
penetrate the living body.
It does not glow brightly on the astral plane; but it introduces
a very obvious and characteristic shift in the appearance of the
target's aura (`Hey, that's Vanity's aura; and she's got a spell
lock on her, somewhere under that battle-armour!').
So, knowing that the spell lock is there means that an astral mage
can cast an appropriate spell at the target's aura, confident that
it will be able to ground out through the physical material of the
spell lock.
So, no metre-wide auras radiating through walls, and spell locks can
still be grounded through.
