Ok Ok now.
I use the german hardcover SRII V2.01 D rulebook printed 1993 !
According to it, and considering that special rules replace general rules,
I conclude the obove rules to be vanilla !
Breaking through barrieres p.98,
ram-spell p.151 is identical with german grimoire II p.56
(half barriere rating : first double and then half it again would be idiotic
-they'd write "use normal rating" instead -like with damaging manipulation
spells p.98 SRII).
Why is magic such a powerhorse ?? The mage in my group casted a physical
barriere force 8 ! The konguy harassing him fired ONE (!) burst from an AK 97
and knocked the mage down with a serious wound (with body 3) !
(Sure, if he had a force 9 barriere the first burst would have bounced off
but the second sure wouldn't !!!)
If the horrors arrive in 500-2000 years, I don't expect to see manny of them
around to unbalance the game. Besides, who really ever meets Lawfyr, Harlekin
and friends ? I would be more concerned with pissing of a megacorp what could
really happen on some shadowruns. You don't have to use a real magic power-
horse in every plot. When you use them occasionally, the won't unbalance the
game. (Even though I'd rather flee from Fuji than Lowfyr ;))) )
