I dont understand why SR hasnt develop this idea of low altitude
commercial vehicles. The cover of New Seattle boasts one of them but
we dont see stats for them anywhere. Cyberpubk2020 has a couple of
luxury vehicles that are capable of flight (think they call them AVs)
I think the feel of the game would be significantly changed by the
inclusion of such vehicles.

If you want them in your SR game, go to
http://shadowrun.html.com/plasticwarriors/srbooks/cc.html and download the
Chromebook Conversions. Plenty of AVs in there, converted to SR, plus some
chassis to design your own with Rigger 2 :)

My mailer wont put arrows in my replies to you Gurth.. very odd..

Anyway, thanks for the tip, I've got the book, very nice. Adding these
to a campaign is going to change things in many ways. Does anyone
reckon as a previous poster suggested that pilots of these things will
need special licenses? Flight plans?

Actually, we require "flight plans" and "fueling routes" to be
determined in
our games now because of the Rigger-requirements. Deckers get involved, and
even on rare occasion, the magicians do with their watchers (especially in
the way far north NAN territories).

This, I can see, because this is basicly an extension of current air laws. I
dont see pilots of these LAV's neccecarily being required to have secial
licences, though. This would be the sort of thing that can vary greatly, and
should be decided by individual GM's... I, for example, wouldnt REQUIRE a
special licence for such a vehicle, but all such vehicles WOULD be required
to have an Autonav of 3 or better, because you would not be allowed to fly it
manually unless you DID have said licence.

I know, some people have told me that too... It has to do with the
encoding of the message, IIRC, but I don't think I can change it :(

That might have been me. I think you'd need at least a pilot's license for
them, since they are aircraft, and pretty complex ones at that. As for
flight plans, that may depend on how many there are flying around. If
there are very few, I think governments would require flight plans for
them; OTOH if everyone owns an LAV, flight plans would probably not be
required, after pressure from various groups to do away with the bother
(or because it "takes away our freedom to go where we want without asking
authorization!" :)

I think people are too used to think of then as "cool military
gadgets" and nothing else :) .
