Hi.
I'm thinking about scenario where free spirit is a main character and it
(?) try to become human (Inspiration: "I, robot" by Asimov).
Any tips how to work it out?
What runners should do to help spirit achieve that goal?

Hey, no worries about the English.
There're worse people out on the WWW.
And it's not your native tounge, so... :-)

. . .

For the idea, though:

How about the spirit trying to clone itself a body,
with some arcane materials and some metamagic thrown
in the cloning process, so that the spirit could totally
overtake the body after it's ready.

The materials and the magic should be very rare and
not easyly obtainable. And the facility where the ritual cloning
can take place, should be a one-of-its-kind thing.

. . .

Does this make any sense?

The first thing it needs is a body. The runners cold either work as
organleggers to get the body a piece at a time, or they could do an
extraction to get someone who is a willing recipient (perhaps because that
person owes a lot of money and the spirit will pay those debts off and leave
the target's family very wealthy).

Sorry for the top-post on that last one.

Cloning is probably a better idea than either of mine. :-)

The spirit would definitely want an awakened body, so it would want to make
runs to steal data from the companies that are working to map the awakened
genome. The runners may never even know they're helping the spirit, or it
may become a rating 2 contact at the end of the ordeal, depending on how
much of an impact you want the spirit to be.

Their relationsship could get closer over time, meaning you start by
intersecting runs for the spirit inbetween others and the runners only
gradually get aware of a bigger picture.
Maybe the get to the point
for whom (or what) they are working at the same time that some corp, they're
stealing from for the spirit for does. The Corp obviously wants it
stuff back and and a free spirit for "research" too... so now the
spirit needs somebody for protection during his transformation...

To my knowledge, there's only two ways a spirit can "Steal" a body. The
first is by cyberzombie possession (M&M), the other need the spirit to
be a Shedim spirit (YOFC).

If you're not a Shedim spirit, i would assume that the only way to get a
permanent body for the spirit will be done via a weird form of
Cybermancy ritual. In that case, here's the shoping list for our spirit:

-A high level mage who know enough about Cybermancy to design such an
unique ritual,
-Large amount of exotic and hard to find magical materials,
-A proper safe location to make the ritual in a weird and highly magical
place,
-A team of magicians that will make the ritual,
-A security team to protect the site of the ritual,

And, of course,

-An unlucky, living, awakened bloke that will be used as a vessel for
the spirit.

All those items on the shoping list will need separate runs to acheive.
The runners will need to convince, bribe, extract and blackmail to reach
their goals. It will also cost a mighty NuYen to put that type of
operation on the road.
