Something we've started doing is splitting up the Design Costs (and to some
extents) for Engines/Power Plants and for Chassis. We've also considered
subdividing out specific systems (such as magnanimous sensor suites), and then
adding up overall vehicle cost. It's not something for an "on-the-fly"
vehicle of course, nor for a beginning player, but we are usually neither one.
