Actually, I have a big feeling that they are going to be definate allies
against them.

One note for you, though, just to show that I'm a bit biased in the Mantis'
favor. I'm really female and really a Mantis... No, just kidding. I'm
niether. However, they have played a large part of my regualr campaign.

OK, here goes, but I warn you, it is STRANGE....

I'm an Ork Decker named Bull and my Partner is Johnny 99, a Shaman. We're a
two man team, so we've taken a different approach to running the shadows
than most teams do. We concentrate on making contacts and allies, making
quick, silent, and bloodless runs, and in general try to make friends.
Well, Johnny's a bit of a flirt, and he got hooked up early on with a group
of magical types doing a ritual, this included Xuxa, an Enchanting Adept and
Becky, a Rat shaman. (Yes, I know this is a bit drawn out, sorry, but the
conclusion requires the background.)

Well, Johnny got involved with Xuxa, who kinda had a thing going with Becky.
Ended up, all three of them got together, and Johnn ended up marrying them
both. Well, a year or so later, Me and Johnny get home from a run, and
there's another woman in the house. Becky brought a "friend" home named
Adrienne and she joined in the group.

Well, about three or four months later, real time, turns out Adriennes a
Mantis and has turned Becky into one too. They were going to use Johnny as
the sacrifice, but we managed to convice them not too and ended up helping
them destroy a nearby mosquito hive, with a little outside help from
Perianwyr, the dragon from the Mariah Mercurial Module. (I warned you!)

We were living in cleveland at the time, and for those of you in the know,
Adriene is Vixen... So, Jophny just happens to be VERY close to the leader
of a group of Mantid, and married to another one. We are still on friendly
terms with her. Let em tell you, made the runs from Super Tuesday MUCH
easier...:)

My feelings on the matter come from both the way our current GM has been
runing them, as well as from the various novels and sourcebooks that they
have appeared in. I really don't think, when it comes down to it, that
theya are all that evil, or even interested in human societm per se... But
that's just my impression and that of my GM...

Tune in next week when you'll here Bull say:

"Dammit, Billy! Stop eating the Futon!"

That's all, B's and G's...:)

the bugs generally have reason to dislike the horrors, in HB Harlequin
may comment they will eat all the bugs they can find when the time
comes, so the bugs have no reason to want the horrors here either,
though humanity might not appreciate the reason why. However the bugs
are less powerful.

The bugs generally are probably not evil, just different. As they
need to 'infest' hosts to survive on the physical plane though they
are an enemy. What they do is evil to use but like many creatures its
simply survival to them.

The mantids however are different (as is spider). They might actually
be truely on our side but the evidence though piling up does not
really answer the question.
Are they helping us so we help them /or , are they helping us because
they want to. Either way they eat other bugs. Yes they will probably
eats horros to, but only the small stuff, the big stuff is far too
powerful.

That's the only reason they really have to ally with humanity.
Most likely alone we will all die when the horrors come.
Working together, the verious races on Earth should be able to hold back the
Enemy.
Dunkelzhan, Harlequin and the other "Bigwigs" must also think there's some
hope, if they are working so hard to gain assisstance for the fight.
Too bad Dunk's dead. From some of his more cryptic comments (ala Wyrm Talk)
I think he could have been a major rallying point for meathumanity to fight
off the Horrors.

Hey, perhaps he still can be! (You REALLY believe he's DEAD!?!) Even if
really is dead, we could claim him as a martyr!
