Hi ya chummers.

It´s been awhile since I posted anything here, I´ve been busy with school,
or rather anything but school :)

Anyway there´s a convent coming up in a month here or so and there´s been
talking about playing some SR, and since I can hardly remember the last time
I acctually played instead of GMed SR I thought I would freshen up my old
character and convert him to SR3. But some problems has come up since I lack
both Man & Machine and the new SR Companion. I´ve heard that the math SPU
has been changed somewhat so my question is:

Can someone give me the new rules for Math SPU? My char, Chatterling, has a
level 4 so any changes would have a great impact on the overall character.

Also I would like to know if they´ve changed the Technical School education
edge in the new companion.

As always, very grateful for any help.

Btw, who on this list will attend LinCon this year? Mail me if you will.

Uriel

This just goes to show you how cool a game Shadowrun is. Even the nuns are
playing it now...

Working from memory.. but it adds twice it's level to any math
skill. Adds it's level to a task pool usable for technical skills. When
decking increases hacking pool by it's level, the task pool bonus is
void when decking.

Plus all other "lesser" functionalities, such as a stop watch etc. as
mentioned in shadowtech.

Oh. by the way, level three is the highest level available.

Almost right. It doesn't add a pool to technical skills. That's the
encephalon's job - now that changed quite a bit. only 2 levels now,
adds to int for determining skill costs ONLY, and provides a task
pool equal to it's level (unless decking, in which case it adds to the
hacking Pool)

Everything else there is quite accurate, however.

Theres some big changes, like mostly the levle 4 spu doesn't exist any
more. Levles 1,2, and 3 have the same costs as before, All add twice thier
level as complimaentary dice to math related knowledge skill (only) tests,
and add thier level direclty to hacking pool. They have no effect on other
skills.

It costs one point and reduces the defaulting penalty when "faking" a
background knowledge skill by 1, from how it looks. That doesn't seem
right, since it should make using knowledge skills in place of technical
skills easier, but that doesn't seem to be what the description implies.
