Hmmm, I don't think the rules are implicate on this, but I think once an anchor
gets used up, ALL the spells would have to be recast. Thus, in the above
example, after each use, both detect person and whatever have to be recast.

Of course, those immortal Elves probably have a way of doing this cheaper, via
Earthdawn magic methods.

All linked spells have to be cast in sequence in one go so yes. This
can get a bit painful on the drain front.

Certainly, thread magic does some very nice stuff. However very
different things are easy in the two systems. I have however not read
the ED magic book.
