I'm not certain why this topic was initially called "deckers".

Anyhoo, here's what our group does:

Everyone in our group has e-mail. We're doing in-between work via e-mail,
things like shopping for new gear, fencing the loot, and occasional side
adventures. Heck, I just had one of the characters get adopted a few weeks
ago. An entire part of one adventure took place over e-mail (it was an
epilogue to an adventure that just required one message).

Then again, it just depends on how quickly your game is moving. In my game,
we skip ahead quite a bit, hours, days, weeks, even months ahead between
runs. In other games, it's one run right after another with shadowrunners
furiously scribbling in their dayplanners.
