As I told you in my last message, I had masterised '1SB4' last saturday
night. It was also the first time for me to masterised with the new
combat rules of SR2. All I have to say is WAOW! it's really deadly now,
in comparison with SR1. It's deadly for the NPCs, but also for PCs.

So I come to one conclusion. Am I right with the rules or am I wrong?
I had discovered I was right, but some points remained obscurs. So,
here are my questions:

- For a narcojet gun, what power do you use for the resistance roll,
to evade the needle. I know what to do when somebody is hit by the
narco needle, but i don't know how you determined if someone is hitted.
I used a TN of 6, but I'm not sure of this choice.

- How do you use the protection provided by an opened car door, which
is armored, for someone who is behind it.

The problem in this case was that one of my players used the doors of his
car as a protection ( Toughness: 8 Armor: 5 ), and he was using a long
coat on which was applied this material used too give an object the ability
of a chamaleon ( Sorry I don't remember the name of the product), giving
him a protection of +6 for enemy perception tests.
It was hard for me to calculate the target number in this case for someone
shooting him

Drawing of the situation:

- Do you count armor provided by a partial cover if the character if shooted
by a sniper?

The system that I use if that given in SSC, with some mods for SR2.
Give a standard TN to the firer, modified for range, lighting SGL etc. Roll to
hit, let the target roll to evade, against at target of 5 or 6 depending on what
you feel is best (dont let the armour reduce it though). Find the net
successes, if the firer has more net successes than the impact rating of the
target then the dart got through, and then roll body to resist the toxin.

I alway though that the partial cover target modifier was mainly from the
firer trying to hit an exposed portion of the target. In which case the armour
on the car wouldn't help. But if the sniper wants to shoot through the cover
then you have a compleatly different kettle of fish. In this case I would be
inclined to give only 1/2 the partial cover modifier, but apply a portion, or all,
of the covers armour/barrier rating. {Hey leaves might stop them seeing you,
but they dont slow down a bullet much}. This sort of system would encourage
the runners to hide behind more solid structures if they want the partial cover
modifier.

Adeus.
