Okay, here we go, I was meaning to work on this...

15th of this month is the target for the new GM's Screen which will also have
a 48-64 page book containing all the critters, except for the "lame ones" (to
use Mike's terms) like the Bombadier (generated many chuckles, that one did).

IIRC, Renraku Arcology : Shutdown, is scheduled to be released at the same
time...damn it, okay, have notes now...

Yes, RA:S (like that abbreviation do we?) is scheduled in the very near future
as well, and will contain the redesigned Otaku rules as well.

New Seattle...hmmm...interesting...I don't have a date on this, anyone help
out here?

Trio Hit of things...First (Milk) Run a module for the beginning player that
at least in Mike's opinion, can be easily modified with the included material
to work for more experienced players. Quick Start, which is actually a 64
page or so size work that is designed to really get new people interested in
the "World of Shadowrun". I would personally think of it as a "really
abbridged version of the SR3 book". Also at this time, which is October
according to my notes, is the Demo Kit which is intended for Retailers to help
get interest in the products really rolling along.

I also have something about "Crysalis", but not more than the word itself and
module....

MitS will contain the combined Grimoire and Awakenings, with the necessary
changes AND the magical critters/beings that are running loose (as in Spirits
or similar things like the Wraith and Corpselight).

That is the breakdown before Christmas.

Into '99 things get IMO, more interesting yet. If MitS is late, then it's
target becomes January. February brings about the projected early release of
SR:Assassin, the new action-video game based heavily upon the SR themology and
will even give points for "stealthy actions" and "called shots/minimum
destruction" in many areas. yet also have regions where "the hoser action
cuts loose".

Man and Machine is also scheduled for tentative release sometime around
February/March IIRC. This will merge the shadowtech, cybertechnology and
other related materials, as well as bring them up to date. Mike is wanting
the reworked bioware here of course, as well as some really neat stuff
including better game mechanics for use of the Biotech / Cybertech skills, as
well as the Cloning and Genetic Manipulations descriptions. He has also
mentioned an expansion on the description of Nanotechnology, how it works, why
it's used, etcetera...

Now somewhere in this area also falls the Corporate Download, which is going
to be the working material of the corporations. Especially in relation to
what in the Corporate Shadowfiles was the "last 18 or so pages, with all the
dirty; whose sleeping with who, kind of stuff (again, to paraphrase Mike)."
He is wanting to expand what was 3 pages like that on each corporation, to
something more like 10 pages on each, giving people ideas on when you meet
their Johnson's, what are you likely to expect, what are the modus operundi of
them, where are their major interests really focused, that kind of thing...
(one note I have says this is for January as well)

August sees the release of the "Cannon Companion", which will have all the
firearms, explosives, BIG GUNS, and even possibly "Build-Your-Own-Toy" rules.
I don't really know much else here.

Novels...hmmm...bad situation. There are a couple out there coming, but FASA
is chewing at the bit concerning their contract with Roc, who has dropped them
from 6 books of SR and 6 of Battletech to 3 of each starting next year, IIRC.
I don't know what is ultimately in store here.

the 15th is the release however of "Psychotrope", and Mike is highly motivated
by this one, as it will give deckers and those who are interested in such a
direct, relatable, way of viewing how they work, their symbolic relationships
(what a program might look like, and why). Lisa Smedman was the author of
this work.

Terminus Project is due out this year (late IIRC), by Jak Koke and has nothing
to do with the Dragonheart Trilogy or it's workings. It brings back DeVries
the Vampire Hunter and the machinations of the Ordo Maximus in England as well
as genetic manipulation on some newer scale....I heard a rumor about Vampires
in Full Daylight...

Run Hard Die Fast is by Mel Odom, and brings back Nigel Findley's character
"Argent" and what happens when he is forced to deal with a flashback from his
past in a physical sense. Mike described this one as very fast paced, and
hard to put down once you have it going.

Steve Kenson has Crossroads, and I honestly know little about this one, so if
Steve gets this far, I sincerely hope he can give a better teaser as well as
it's release dates (I think this is where I started to fall asleep on Friday
in my notes...)

Forever Drug is the last novel I have that Mike mentioned, but apparently Mike
got the original description wrong, and I missed the corrected one. It's not
for a ways off as of yet, so we'll see what happens when it does.

Actualy FASA is still putting the same TOTAL number of novels out
as i understand it. But it will be 6 Battletech, 3 Shadowrun, and 3
*Mechwarior* books. The Mechwarior books are a new series of novels set
in the Battletech universe but instead of focusing on the larger more
political picture will focus on the lives and adventures of lowlevel grunt
mechwariors. They are supposed to attract the adventure/action gamer that
has been playing the Mechwarrior Computer Games and has no clue or desire
for political intriuge. ROC seems to think that these will have a lot
more popularity than the shadowrun books because of the name recognition.
Not like they would stop and think about the fact that the SR book line
has been INCREASING in sales over the last 2 years and WILL be having its
own computer game coming out next year. :P stupid publishers. FASA is
trying to decide if it will publish more novels on its own but i wouldnt
count on it if i were you.
