Does anyone have the scheduled release dates for the remainder of the new
SR3 source books?

Depends on whether you read Kenson's web site, FASA's,
etc etc....I'm guessing the GM Screen, Renraku Shutdown, and
Seattle Sourcebook will all make it out before Christmas.
SR3 should arrive in local stores within the next few weeks.
MITS may be pushed back until January '99, FASA doesn't
even mention it on their release page. The new Cyberware &
Cannon Companion, probably won't arrive until middle of
next year. But this is all pure speculation on my part.

Was just over at the FASA website in the SR area, and it gives the new
products release dates up until November.

just out of curiousity, is there much of a difference between the new
seattle sourcebook and the old? ive got the old (i picked up used
somewhere a couple of years ago), and was just wondering if i should
really bother (although i probably will anyway)...

Potentially a rather large difference. New Seattle is being used to update
events, history, and a bunch of in-game stuff up to the new SR3 start date
of 2060. I haven't gotten the impression from anything seen or heard that
it will merely be a location book.

Steve K. has written it and it's due out in a few months I believe.

There will be some differences. The new book is updated
to take into account recent events such as the Mob War,
Big D's run for the president, etc etc etc. So what can
happen to a city in 10 years? :)
The guys who just returned from GenCon may have a better
idea, but its on my must buy list.

Maybe it's just me, but I'd wait for the new Seattle book, too. I looked
through the old one, and there didn't seem to be much in there that any
imaginative GM couldn't cook up on his own with what was in the BBB2. My
own opinion, natch, but it didn't really strike the "buy me, idiot!"
chord in me.

It sounds like a great book. Mike said that instead of just having a
list of bars, for example, the book will have a list of people you
can meet in bars, what they can do for you, etc.

In other words, it will contain useful information, and not just the
flavor and color stuff, though cool, the previous Seattle contained.

Well, now, I may just have to get it when it comes out, then. Sounds
more worthwhile than the old Seattle book. Though depending on when I
set my game, the older one maybe more useful. I just didn't much care
for a list of shops.

According to Mike Mulvihill during the Friday seminar the New Seattle
Sourcebook will focus more in depth by neighborhoods. It'll be less like a
tour book, and more of a sourcebook for GM's and players.

Unfortunalty my recording of that seminar is very spotty. Due to the
unfortunate mistake of leaving the Voice activation system on. I'll know
better next time
