Not a problem on my end at least.

The Hardcover ($30.00 American) that was sold at Gencon, was a total of 1,000
placed into print. Each of them were hand printed as to their number. I know
that most of the members of the list got at least one. I got one for myself,
and several for other people. To many of us, the Hardcover's we got became
almost like "Yearbooks", and we went about collecting signatures from as many
of the rest of us, and the FASA Staff theirselves, as possible.

The Softcover ($25 American) also went on sale at Gencon, and was sent out to
distributors on Friday. Everyone should be (crosses fingers) getting those in
their stores (USA) within the next couple of weeks.

Canada may or may not take a bit longer.

Europe, Africa, South America and Australia (I believe that covers everyone
else here at least) have different times, with, as we were told, Australia
being the most behind out of the entire list.

There is one major exception to all of this.

FASA, is working on selling their material in-house, as it were, via their web
page, because they have gotten -VERY- upset with the way many distributors
handle their products. Anyone *should* (again, crosses fingers) be able to
order directly, but as for shipping, I know -NOTHING- about this.

As for what is the fate of the remaining hardcovers that did NOT sell at
Gencon, I cannot truly say.

WAAAAAAAAAH!

<pout> You mean I actually have to *open* my limited edition HB if I
want to know the rules sometime before Christmas?

NO FAIR!

Anyone from the US willing to take in boarders? :)

Numbered editions? Interesting. Am I also interpreting you correctly that
the hardcover had a *different* cover than the softcover? Please elaborate.

So they had hardcovers actually left over? I ask mainly out of selfish
reasons; I had someone going to both GenCon and Comicon picking up a
hardcopy for me and I'll have to wait until Friday evening to pick it up in
SD and see if he was successful in getting the hardcover. If there were
leftovers, that would mean he should have had no problem in getting mine.
Which also means other people in the same situation should be okay also.

BTW, Claudia Christensian (or whatever, sorry) is going to be at the
Comicon *this* weekend. She'll probably be geeked out by the middle of
August...

The hardcover is solid black, with a metallic blue 'S' (the Shadowrun S,
not Superman's!). Very impressive.

The 'ransom note' logo doesn't do much for me, though. (Maybe it's that
sub-subliminal 'Good' embedded in it?)

Okay, that's the impression I was getting, but I wasn't positive. Is it
like some electric blue or something? And what the hell is the cover made
of anyway? Please, please don't tell me that Rett lied to me about no
leather editions. I will be supremely pissed. (and he's already dropping
the ball with my SDCC prizes...)

Huh? Elaborate please. A new logo? The only cover shot I saw was one
that looked very similar to the old cover, just with that new artwork
replacing Sally, Ghost and Dodger.

Damn. I have to wait until Friday night for my copy...

It's a medium shade of blue. I'm trying to come up with something else
to compare it to, and failing.

No, it's not leather. Think high school yearbook.

The inside cover page has the softcover picture on it. However, instead
of the 'groat' logo, it has what I can only describe as a 'ransom-note'
look to it. (I think it would've been cooler if they used the card game
font instead.)

It's worth it. Well worth it....

In fact, I propose the quasi-official acronym "BABY", for "Big All
Black
Yearbook", descriptive of one of those 1000 Hardbacks appearance. When
referring to a SR3 rules, many of us could say "According to my BABY..."
My one disappointment, appearance wise, is that the color cover on the
softbacks (the one shown on FASA's website, btw) is very nice, and was not
included as an inside coverplate on the
BABY version. Of course, if you have a BABY, you probably had a chance to
pick up a POSTER of that same art...

Huh. Interesting. I'll be looking forward to it. Thanks for the info.

Okay, I'm going to jump this one, and jump it fast. We talked with Rett
extensively on this topic, and as far as he can remember, he never remembered
telling *ANYONE* there was a Leather Edition or anything similar. He did
state the 1,000 hardcover limit being the only "limited edition" that there
would be. As for what it's made of, it really reminds me of the hardback
standard of firm cover material (similar to cardboard).

Now if he mistook any information, he did apologize and did so profusely. And
then promptly told us to go to the end of the line. (grumblegrowlbitchmoan
;).

The new word "Shadowrun" across the top of the book no longer has the big,
elaborate, ram's skull and banner appearance. It matches the remainder of the
stylization format of the book. -MODERN- with all capitalization intended.
And the cover art does directly have a relationship to the introductory story
in the front of the text as well.

Well consider that you will at least get one, and sleep happily :)

at least another 8 weeks until it perhaps arrives in my store...:-(

You know how much they ask for p&p for overseas delivery? 35%
of the total order (that's $10.50 for the hardcover, yikes). At least
they deliver (according to their order page) via Global Priority, so it
would arrive within 10 business-days.
amazon.com delivers via standard shipping ($4 per shipment +
$1.95 per item, time 2-12 weeks) or via DHL World Mail ($7 per
shipment + $5.95 per item, time 7 to 21 business-days) which
reaches break even once you order two or more books.

Okay, got the info from someone else on RN, had to be sure.

Honestly, part of it was the fact that Rett said several times he was
shipping stuff out to me, but I have yet to receive my prizes for the game
I'm running this Saturday at the Comicon. I'm more than a bit annoyed by
it. Other than that, he's been a great help.

Argh, sleep is for weenies!! Me tough guy, me need no sleep!

Nah, it's the anticipation that's killing me. Most folks are resigned to
not getting a BABY, or have theirs. Most folks are simply waiting for a
few more weeks (potentially) for the BBB3. I *know* my BABY is "due" this
Friday night and it's a simple matter of waiting and waiting and waiting...

Actually, this may be an important distinction ... is there a difference
in page numbering between the HB and SB? I don't see why there would be,
but you never know :)
