Yeah, I got the call today. Also got the bad news: No Limited Edition for
me. Not really surprised, but am rather unhappy.

He may have, and his store didn't end up ordering enough to get him one.

Unfortunatly this is apparently VERY common. I' talked to a couple store
owners just before Gen Con, and both were positive that their distributors
would be able to get them an LE or 2, despite neither planning to purchase
12 copies. When I mentioned that the 12 book deal was a limit imposed the
the publisher, both laughed and commented something to the effect of having
a good relationship with their distributor and being able to get hooked up.

Add to this the apparent confusion regarding the 12 book limit rule. It
seems to have been a combination of distributor and retailer
miscommunication, misunderstanding, or flat out lying because a lot of folks
are saying that they didn't know or weren't told, or were told wrong (6 per
LE seems to be a common one). I do know FanPro has said repeatedly since the
GAMA Trade Show back in what, March? That the deal was 12 for one.

It is a sucky situation :(

Well ... I guess it's much like the Neemis Enterprises ad slogan says:
"Do people really care enough about student demonstrators to put a thin
plastic coating over a 13 gram steel core? People do."

These are suitable for crowd control. Just fire into the ground a few
meters in front of them like you should have been taught.

"Whoa... Remind me of never having my gang have a riot in a city you, or
someone buying stuff from you, might be at, at the time!"

(I would sooo love to see Knight Errant actually use this method in
the Barrens once. Naturally, these protestors, were 'endangering Ares
employees and property'. *grins*)

Zebulin

You should try and find out who your local store was getting them
from. Cause my local didn't order enough ( i.e. 12 ) to get a LE, but
when they spoke to their distributor they were able to, if the case
actually happens, get a LE after the promotion. i.e. The distributor
orders 25 books = 2 LE. He then passes these onto the local gaming
stores. One store takes 13 so they get the one LE and 2 other stores
take 7 and 5, so neither of these have enough to get an LE but the
distributor still has 1 sitting in their wharehouse. My local was
able to "reserve" me this copy if this situation arises, still
haven't heard if Im getting one or not.

.338 Ultra ;) I'd say .338 Lapua Magnum, but I can't find an AW-M that's
been legalized for civilian sale...

As long as you don't need to ship it to anywhere outside of the US.
While it doesn't make it any more difficult if you wish to do so, it
does make it far more expensie than mounting a run against them ; )

Well, the raffle was the reason I ordered the hardcover. I figured if I
was going to have a softcover, I might as well have the hardcover for
myself and the softcover for my friends. But I ordered direct from
Battlecorps, and early enough that I got confirmation before Gen Con was over.

did you specifically order it though? including prepaying for the LE
copy? if so, then binky at the store committed theft and you can involve
the police.

my 2 cents

P.S. for my campaign that I am planning I am creating an adept's
initiatory group based on a card from Steve Jacksons INWO card game. the
card is the joggers. I can't remember the details but it is a card you
can use to assassinate a personality in someone elses power structure.
they will be assassins for higher, and kill their targets on the street
while jogging.... because no one ever suspects the joggers. feel free to
use my adept group idea. and credit goes to Steve Jackon Games for the
original idea that inspired mine :D

P.P.S wow that was a long post script LOL

Not too high, it feels a bit less sturdy than the SR3 LE, TBH. Call it 2
in either system (SR1/II/3 and SR4).
