I'm pretty sure that the Battletech books being released online are kind of
the "test", so FASA can decide if they'll release more stuff online.

Also, I know Mike has said several times that he doesn't want to release
the books as-is, he wants to try and release versions with SR3 updated
stats and page references. Personally I don't think this is really
necessary, although it would be very nice in some cases - Adventures being
the most obvious.

It's obviously taking a back-burner to the attempt to ramp the production
schedule up to a book a month, though. :/

Just as a note, WotC is trying to release all the old TSR stuff on-line,
either free (which is great, because I've been able to pick up a lot of
stuff for my D&D game) or for a very small cost ($2.95 a supplement is the
current going rate, I think). I hear they've been getting good response.

Incidentally, if anyone wants to look for some old Shadowrun products, my
local stores carry a lot of older stuff... I know I've seen several copies
of Shadowbeat and other such stuff out on the shelves. I can give you a URL
for one of them, or go get a list of product for those interested.
