Why not take the car show thing over onto SCR?

Its Shadowrun, its Creative and when completed will be a Resource.

Any problems with that Adam?

I personally cant wait to submit my range of new Audis for 2061 :)

Here's an idea: last I looked, there were a LOT more people on RN than on
SCR. And not everyone has time to participate in another mailing
list. I'd say have the contest here, and then post results, ie winning
entries, here, while a compiled list of all entries is posted to SCR :)

It requires people to subscribe to a new mailing list if they aren't
already on SCR, it detracts from the current SCR project (Which, while
loose, should be finished before we start work on any other project, IMO),
and SCR has alot less current subscribers and exposure than ShadowRN and
The Shadowrun Supplemental, so we're likely to get way better results the
way it's been sort of planned.. :)

I think reposting the results to SCR might be a good idea. Maybe Adam J can
let me know when it would be a good time to do so. We've got plenty of time
to decide things like that.

Thanks for the idea, Pantherr!

"Sort of planned" is right. Look for some more definitive planning coming
very soon. My schedule has eased up a little, I'm back in the States, and
we've got hosting [right?] and a programmer. I'll be verifiying details of
programming and hosting within the next few days, and then writing up a list
of the involved parties and a proposal.

Keep your eyes on this space.

So far, we have a prototype database server up, submission guidelines are
awaiting final programming completion, hosting has been arranged, and
format, layout, etc., are in initial stages.

The initial plan has been radically changed from an annual event including
every type of vehicle to a monthly or every-two-monthly event, focussing on
specific classes of vehicle. It will be less a contest than an enormous
[eventually] resource. Although I think there'll be some contests, as well.

Thanks for bringing this up; after the initial stages, no mention was made
publicly of our progress; we've been discussing everything internally,
without any publicity. Most publicity will wait until after we have some
more concrete things to show people, but anyone who has any questions, ask
away. Either I can answer them, or the other members of the team can.

Two notes: One, I'm not really in charge of this project anymore; it's a
group effort now, and much better for it, IMO.

Two, it's not really called the Shadowrun Car Show [SRCS] anymore, as that's
not really what it is. But for now, it'll do, and that may end up being what
we call it if for no other reason than that that's what people are familiar
with.

Anyway, here's the team, so you can point appropriate questions, if any, at
the appropriate people:

00DNA: Primary scripting, web maintenance
abortion_engine: Writing, minor editing, vehicle compilation, graphics
Adam J: Overall site maintenance, further editing, Deep Resonance affiliate,
hosting
[plus TSS editing, inclusion, etc.]

[Hey, does this mean we'll get a slot on the Forum when we go online? :) ]

So, there you go. Thanks for asking, Bruce. Publicity just slipped my mind.
:)
