Yeah, the prices are just wrong. Just from memory it seems like cyberdeck
prices use linear functions to step up. I think the low end needs to be
cust to about 1/10th of the current price, and then some sort of quadratic
system used.

I know SR software already uses a quadratic size increase so I think just
cutting the price down on software would work. I never get to play
though, so I'm not sure when/how to palytest stuff.

Well, I'm wondering if it is ppc or ppc64.

Well, that's good to hear, maybe I will be able to go G5 for my next
system. I'm fine with ~ support. My desktop is a ~x86 system 'cept for
gcc, and I'm having to use a few ~x86 apps on my stable x86 laptop.

Well, we aren't targeting Tiger right now. I love generics, but it's a
significant language change that we can't force on our customers; heck, we
still have to make sure most of the software is 1.3 compatible.

I do my java programming in jEdit with a list of plugins and it works
really well for me. I'm thinking of moving to KDevelop, but I've had
problems importing projects into it. [Works fine if the project is
entirely developed in KDevelop though.]

I saw someone working in Eclipse and it looked really slick, I may try it
in the future.

I do my java development in Notepad. Never had a problem with it.
But what can I say, I'm old school. ;)
