Greetings All,

Simple question for you (One hopes).

What would you say are the top 5 events in Shadowrun history. This
is, of course, not including the Awakening.

I'll start off.

1. Year of Chaos, 2011
2. Goblinization, 4/30/2021
3. Night of Rage 2/7/2039
4. Crash of '29
5. Death of Dunkelzahn 11/?/2057

Well, the only other major events I might add would be, Bug City and the
bloody TacNuke Ares shoved into the Hive, and/or perhaps the Lone Eagle/NAN
events, such as the Ghost Dance. Limiting it to 5 might be making things TOO
tight. :-) Mainly because, it depends on the POV of s/he who answers the Q.

Don't forget the first, and arguably most important.

0. Shiawase Decision, 2001 - whereby corporations were granted
extraterritoriality.

Actually, I'd think most of the "top 5 events" in history would have
occurred before 2011. It also makes a difference what you mean by "top 5".
If you mean "most influential", that is, events that caused the greatest
impact on the history that followed, I'd say it was something like this, in
no particular order:

The Reformation.
The invention of the process of creating ammonia from atmospheric nitrogen.
The Awakening
The discovery of a method of confirming the purity of gold.
The invention of the plow.

And so on. The point is, most of "Shadowrun history" is our present history.

Let us not forget the first Cold fusion power plant going online in
2027, giving all those technological wonders in the 205X's power
to run... :)

O.K. Let me see if I can clarify what I meant. ;)

The top 5 most influential events that, while they are history in
2060, are still in the possible (if not probable) future for us today.
