Hey... has anyone noticed... The people on the front of the
(softcover) SRII book is the running group in the Secrets of Power
trilogy... you've got Dodger decking, Sally hiding behind the wall,
and Ghost firing the SMGs... Native American, remember?

Now I gotta read the rest of it books to see if I can figure out the
situation going on... might the orks firing back be Kham's group or
something? hmmm...

The first edition Shadowrun book had a short story with the three of them
in it. The cover showed them carrying out the run in the story, which
if I remember correctly was along the lines of Dodger running the matrix naked
through an ATM and the group of them getting shot at by corp security
goons on their way out. It was a simple story but it was pretty cool. I
was actually kinda disappointed when they changed the story in the second
edition rulebook.

If you ever get your hands on the first edition book check out the intro
story.
If I remember correctly that picture is from that story.

Oh, "Plus Ca Change..." is pretty cool. I like Neddy and Nameless. :) And
the title is really appropriate.

You won't find the situation in the SR2 book -- it is a scene from the
opening story in SR1. SR2 has Plus Ca Change, but SR1 had a different
story, with Ghost, Sally, and the Dodger doing a small run on Mitsuhama,
jacking into a terminal like the one in the picture.

The situation is dodger got his hands on the access codes for a remote
terminal. He started decking, the corp located them and sent backup, etc,
etc. (It's the short story in the SRI rulebook....)

I wish I had my SR1 book with me. When I get home next week I'll try and
post the full story.(I if I can type that much.) It's actually one of the
better SR stories I've read. It gives a good feel for the game, and makes a
good lead in for the first book.
