Does anyone here find the SRII GM Screen to be exceeding useful/usless?

Any other sourcebooks that come highy recommended/flamed?

So far, I have the main rulebook (of course), the Grimoire, Fields of
Fire, and the NAGRL.

Suggestions are appreciated--thanks!

Justin :)

Its nice, but not really neccessary. I didn't have a GM screen before I
got it, so for me it was a good deal. It comes with a neato little sheet
of fold-over paper minies, good if you's po' like me & can't afford metal
ones.

All of the sourcebooks are good if you are in terested in that area of
the SR universe. For example, Shadowbeat (media-sourcebook) is well nigh
useless to me because I don't run media-type campaigns. If you wanted to
run a media campaign, though, it would be a great resource. But here are my
recommendations for good, all-around sourcebooks that should be useful in
any campaign:
1. Shadowtech (neat equipment, reasonable rules, good background)
2. StreetSammurai Catalog (neat equipment, reasonable rules)
3. Rigger Black Book (nice stuff, great rules, get this only if)
(you have 1st ed. shadowrun.)

Depending on where your campaign is located, an 'atlas' sourcebook might
be nice. For example, because most of my campaigns take place within
seattle, I got the Seattle sourcebook. About one run in three of mine
occurs in other countries in NA, so I got NAGNA and NANv1 for more info
about the rest of the Balkanized America. Note:NANv1 has a great
adventure in it. I've run it several times & my players enjoyed it every
time. I've been a player in the NANv2 adventure and I can tell you it
lives up to the standards set by its older brother:long, hard, and fun as
hell.

Correct. I like it though. And it's nice for the players to have something
SR-like to watch, and good to hide behind. I wouldn't hold a session wihtout
mine :-)
It also comes with an SRII-update of the contacts in Sprawl Sites.
Hint: some of these, you know, yellow, stycky thingies and add anything you
like. Or cover anything you don't like. :-) I added for example the damage
recovery table, first aid table and conjuring drain table to mine, to
mention a few.

Correct, too. I'd also recommend the equipment-books like Shadowtech and
Street samurai cat., simply because my players were 'born to shop'. They
love it.
Rigger BB is for the first ed. rules, but I bought it anyway. You have all
the stats for the vehicles already in FoF, but the pictures in RBB are OK,
and to know a little more than the stats of a vehicle is good for the
all-over feeling, wouldn't you say? :-)

I guess you can live without Sprawl sites and Virtual realities. Sprawl
sites has a lot of maps to use on-the-fly, which might be good if you
improvise a lot. It also has some adventure-ideas whose existence tend to be
repeatedly forgotten by me. I dont think they were so great, anyway... As
for VR, most of the rules are already in the SRII rulebook, not to mention
that it was made for the first ed. And yea, two other things: 1) A large
portion of it is a short-story about a 'matrix-child' that is ok, but not
quite what you expected when buying a rulebook. and 2) There is a VR second
ed on the way...

Get the Seattle sourcebook. It has most of the recurring locations in it,
and maps that will do. And, not to forget, some funny-looking ads!

I agree. Both NAN books are worth buying only for the adventures in them.
The fact that you get a lot of info on the NAN is more like a bonus! And no
bad bonus at that...

I have only read the Nan1 adventure but don't like it. If you like
flying lead fine. Nan2 is good, and i have run it succesfully, this
one does need some brains to do at all easily! If you intend your
players going to the Nan Nations these books are very handy for
things like local prices (often higher that Seattle) boarder
restrictions, (can you get in posing as tourists, is bribing the
guards wise e.t.c.) and the like. Not all the Nan nations are as
'green' as they would like you to believe, though being against back
to basics (and being of real Nan descent) is not so cunning in many.
