I just updated my webpage a tiny bit, by adding some scans of the covers of
a few of the Shadowrun Manga published in Japan by Dragon Comics.

www.geocities.com/m0ng005e/srmnvbr.htm will take you to my main Shadowrun
index, with a list and description of the 4 images. If for some reason that
page fails to display nicely for you, (which I don't really want to hear
about, thank you, unless you download the code and fix the problem) here's
the individual files:
www.geocities.com/m0ng005e/japsrjkt.gif
www.geocities.com/m0ng005e/japsrcv2.jpg
www.geocities.com/m0ng005e/japsrcv3.jpg
www.geocities.com/m0ng005e/japsrcv4.jpg

If anybody can provide a translation of the text in japsrjkt.gif, I'd be
very grateful, and would love to post it (with credit, of course).
Similarly, if anybody has suggestion of how to scan the interiors without
damaging the fragile glue bindings (these comics are almost as thick as SR3,
maybe 10x15cm, and their bindings are rather similarly fragile), I'd
appreciate it. Maybe one of those "rolling" scanners is the way to go...

Enjoy!

I honesly don't know where to get them. They were produced in Japan by
a FASA license, and the pruducer just sent the 3 samples, with no further
information. I was just lucky enough to borrow them for a while. Nobody at
FASA seems to know much about them, either.
I posted the whole covers so that people could see the ISBN, etc, and
maybe figure something out (a search on Amazon.com turned up nothing). I
honestly don't think they are imported by anybody, although if you lived
somewhere with a large Japanese population, you could probably find a store
that would get them. There is in fact a "manga library" here in Chicago,
but it is Korean, not Japanese.
I also tried the Libray of Congress database, with no luck (not
suprising, these are not published in the U.S.) I do have a friend who has
a degree in lbray science; I may let him take a shot. Folks overseas may
havbe better luck; Australia is at least a little close to Japan than
Chicago.

Well, I can understand the katakana(which makes everything except for
that kana-intensive page so easy to read), but the kanji is a bit
beyond my reach. I'm going to ask my Japanese teacher about these
this coming Monday. Wish me luck...

Make you own luck, do not entrust others to make it for you.
