According to Scott Harrison, on 31-10-05 18:47 the word on the street was...

I'd also add Collateral, with Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx. A very SR-ish
plot about a guy doing things in SR-ish ways, I thought.

Waterhouse works on a data retrieval system in his log cabin, that
sounds computer-related to me :)

Same here. To a large degree, the game rules define the reality of the
game world, and if there is not a good reason to deviate far from them,
I don't see the point. Of course, if you have an easy alternative for a
rule that you feel doesn't work, go ahead and use it -- but I don't see
the need to change rules that aren't overly realistic, only to replace
them with much more convoluted ones in the name of realism.

Ahh, *this* thread again!

_The Usual Suspects._ My favorite. Hands-down the absolute best
example anywhere of getting screwed by Mr. Johnson. >8->

And then there's The Transporter :)

And, on a more whimsical side, Jackie Chan movies make for good
Shadowruns too :)

I recently read about this movie called Nemesis (alarm
lights should start flashing when you hear a movie
title like that) by Albert Puyn. It's a cheesy
B-flick, but some parts of the trailer, which I found
at

http://www.videodetective.com/trailer-preview.asp?PublishedIDa7698
looked like they could be used as Shadowrun setting
material. Problem is the DVD is rare and goes for
something like $50 on Amazon. Strange that a
made-for-video dud like this should be amongst those
DVD's that warrant a price higher than retail.

I'm currently getting into post-apocalyptic movies and
imagine there's a lot of interesting thoughts to be
found in those. In fact I can't wait to find the time
to ponder the finer aspects of barrens survival while
watching Le Dernier Combat by Besson sometime.

cheers,

Jan Jaap

I'll also add something I saw on BBC 2 yesterday: Broken News. Not a
movie, but a TV show parody on news channels -- it struck me that this
is probably a good example of how the media works in SR ...
