Okay, I can find myself agreeing with this one. I have found it interesting
of late, a survey done by one of those countless groups finds that
teens/young adults -do- believe that there is an "end in sight" to racial
tension, while their adult peers/parental types "don't ever see it
happening." I think that magical acceptance would likely happen in similar
ways. The initial generation(s) are not likely to accept it as much, but as
time moves forward, the groups will shift in their difference. Unless of
course they are like the current "Baby Boomers", who need to do the growing
up (sorry about that last part, most "Baby Boomers" I know of here in the
States are annoying, self-absorbed, buttholes who are too worried about their
time, their prowess and their money and how their children should or
shouldn't do a buttwipe).

I think that this is true for everything though. Gay, Magic, Virulent
Outbreaks, Paranoic Anemia, they all happen and they all are a part of fear
and distrust. As long as their is someone with a self-image problem and some
influential power (money, charisma, time, contacts, etc.), there will always
be stuff like you suggest.

And -I- am in a position to know.
