Somebody said (on the list, I think) that it's Russian and means "shit."
Since the only Russian I know consists of a few words relating to
military vehicles, I'm not sure how true this is...

With all the American TV shows, movies, and music we get, he thinks we
learn British English... <rant> The majority here speaks English with an
exaggerated American accent, not to mention they mangle the words so some
are almost unrecognizable (or should that be unrecognisable? I can do
both! :) and throw in Dutch expressions that none of you would ever
understand... </rant>
