Actually, under SR tech, you wouldn't even need implants or surgery
for this. This is the sort of thing where ASIST, when applied
creatively, could work all sorts of wonders.

In this case, all that would be needed would be a finely tuned
selective RAS Cutout. It's just one small set of internal bodily
reflexes that need to be overidden, and once you do that, then a guy
can last as long as makes his partner happy.

In fact, ASIST could also help out with impotence from psychological
causes. A simple simchip, with no RAS cutout, and only a few carefully
selected tactile tracks, and perhaps some of the more internalized
sensory tracks, would fool the brain into thinking that the body was
in a state of stimulated arousal. Without the RAS cutout, the user's
actual body would soon mimic the condition that the brain is
experiencing.

Sex is a highly mental process; for example, a quadraplegic male, with
no tactile sense or voluntary muscle control from the neck down, can
achieve erection and even orgasm through the applied use of memory and
imagination. Now just imagine what could be achieved if the
imagination could be given a turbo-boost via Sim, in a perfectly
healthy, yet psychologically impotent male. Virtual Viagra.
