On Oct 27, PCSteele asked 'what are combat pools,' and 'what do street sams
get' (by way of dice pools).

In SRUN II, the dodge and defense pools are _eliminated_, replaced by the
combat pool, which equals ( (Willpower + Intelligence + Quickness) / 2_)

(sorry about that underline, hope it's clear)

The combat pool is used for 'any offensive or defensive combat-related tests, su
ch as Firearm, Projectile Weapon, Throwing Weapon, Gunnery, Melee Combat, or
similar offensive Combat Skill Tests.... It is also possible to use dice
from the Combat Pool to augment Damage Resistance Tests against normal attacks."

Note that in SRUN II, one can never add more dice to a skill test than the
rating of the skill in use (firearms 1, eh? well, you're still gonna be a
lousy shot, chummer), and there is no limit to the number of dice you can
throw into damage resistance tests :) which with the new fire combat rules
you reallyreallyreally need...

Combat pool dice are reduced by heavy armor: partial or full heavy armor
reduce the combat pool by 1d6 for every point of Ballistic Armor Rating that
the armor has over the wearer's Quickness rating

Whoa,

Seth aka Woodsy
